Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in my garden, making some test shots for my beginners' photography course. I just entered the course. Until that time, I was self taught.

Time

It was a winter's morning picture, Januray 2016, with the morning dew still covering the plants...

Lighting

I was attracted by the soft light, catching the buxux through my neighbour's trees, making it a beautiful scenery.

Equipment

This was shot with my Canon EOS 1100D, using my most used lens, the Canon EFS 18-55mm macro lens. No flash, no tripod and no other equipment were used.

Inspiration

As I just entered a photography course, I searched for images where I could exercise the depht of focus and would learn how to use my camera and its different basic ways of shooting without autofocus :)

Editing

The only editing I did, was warming up the picture in my basic Windows Photo Viewer. I didn't have any other editing tools at that time..

In my camera bag

For now, I just have a Canon EOS 1100D body and my most preferred lens, the Canon EFS 18-55mm macro 2.25m/0.8ft. My Canon zoom lens EF 75-300mm 1:4-5.6 III macro 1.5m/4.9ft is handy, depending on the environment. My tripod can come along, whenever possible.

Feedback

It's a lucky shot :) The more you shoot, the better you become, more experienced... I saw a great light, the same garden however that I've had for the last 20 years or so. But the first time that I thought of it with a mindset to shoot a nice picture. Think, see opportunity and act, that's all I can say :)
