Come July, after their nesting period in over, and prior to migrating to south america for the winter, these birds congregate (roost) in large numbers in several different areas of Florida. These are amazing birds to watch. They are so very nimble on the wing. I would say they have to be at the top of the list for there flying skills. It never ceases to amaze me how they can do what they do on the surface of the water and not loose flight. Their aerobatic skills do add a little challenge to trying to get a good shot of these guys doing this. Shot was taken in a small boat and was hand held.
