Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at The Trinity River in Fort Worth, TX. It had been raining for several days and we decided to take advantage of the "not raining at the moment" time of day. Reaching the river, the water was over the walkways next to it. Other people had gathered to kill the cabin fever we were all experiencing from the rain. This guy was one of those we met. He and my brother-in-law's dog were enjoying each other's company as well as playing in the water. I happen to snap this as he came splashing out of the water.

Time

This was taken May 30,2015 at 2:15 pm.

Lighting

It had been raining for days and although heavily overcast, we still went to the river. We were able to enjoy some play time before the rain began again.

Equipment

I handheld my Canon Rebel SL1 and used my 55-250mm lens.

Inspiration

I was enjoying watching the dogs play in the water and was taking many candid shots of their reactions. As you can see in this photo, he was definitely enjoying himself.

Editing

I did minimal post processing. A little cropping and a little saturation to bring out the colors due to the overcast sky.

In my camera bag

I never know what photo ops I will come across. I try to keep my Canon Rebel SL1 packed with my 18-55 mm, 55-250 mm, 10-24 mm wide angle, and my 50 mm prime. And in case I ever forget my camera, I always have my trusty camera on my phone, shhhh...I didn't say that.

Feedback

Sometimes, it's about being at the right place at the right time. You never know what you will come across so try to keep you camera handy.
