Behind The Lens

Location

My family and I were out walking along a trail that runs along a river. It had just rained for several days so the river was very high. Among the other residents enjoying the break in the rain, was this playful dog. He was running in and out of the water that had overflowed onto the sidewalk. He paused for a moment and I was able to capture this shot.

Time

This was taken in the late morning or early afternoon.

Lighting

Since it had been raining the last few days, the sky was still very cloudy.

Equipment

This was shot using a Canon Rebel SL1 using a 55-250 mm lens.

Inspiration

We were out on a nature hike. This guy was one of the other locals enjoying the time outside.

Editing

I did some cropping and adjusted the lighting to bright it a bit on Photoshop.

In my camera bag

Besides the camera body, I keep a wide angle lens, 50mm prime, 18-55 mm, and 55-250 mm lenses. I keep my tripod in my car. I decide if I need to take it when I stop to photograph.

Feedback

I almost didn't take my camera this day. This happened to be a chance shot but I took some other great shots that day. So if in doubt, take your camera!
