My appreciation to all those who gave awards for this photo, which I've since named "Bejeweled." Thanks again!

Behind The Lens

Location

On White Oak Landing bridge in Baton Rouge LA

Time

Taken about 6:30 a.m.

Lighting

It was early morning lighting on a foggy day. I had gone out to shoot fog photos. As I crossed the bridge, I noticed spider webs on nearly every upright on the bridge railing and chose the most symmetrical one with the best example of what looked like 'jewels' on it; that's the one I photographed.

Equipment

Canon - Rebel t4i without a flash, hand-held with 75-250 lens in place.

Inspiration

My inspiration was the gemlike quality of the dew drops.

Editing

No post-processing.

In my camera bag

Canon Rebel t4i camera, short and long lens, spare camera batteries, flash and spare batteries for it, lens cleaning kit, notebook and lead pencil.

Feedback

I wished i could have gotten the spidee web up against a dark background - but this wasn't possible that day. I would advise just that: take a light colored, delicate subject against a dark background.
