The photo was taken in my home studio's kitchen in Wroclaw (Poland). I am a self taught passionate photographer, so every shoot is pretty much a new lesson for me. My model was our cat. I'm looking for my own style and therefor experimenting a lot. Time It was about 12am and the sky was pretty cloudy.Time
It was about 12am and the light was pretty cloudy.Lighting
the Shot was taken with a lot of daylight from the nearby window. Before making the picture I made some test and decided to use F 3,5 ( Quite bright with nice depth). After seting upt the exposition, white balance and focus it was time to introduce the model to the scene. Making a cat sit on a spot seems easy, but it isn't Emotikon wink Once everyone was ready i took 5 pictures which took about 2 minutes.Equipment
This shot was on Nikon d610, with my favorite 50mm 1.4 f/3.5 lens.Inspiration
Our cat was taken from the street. It was natural to participate in this action to support animals in need. This theme was super exciting and I had a lots of ideas :) but I said to my self: Calm down and do your thing as good as you can. Im really happy with the result - which motivates me to do new thing. We love our cat Sima and we are verry happy that she is with us. After this contest we made her an Instagram account @simafavcat wher people can watch her. I hope you like like the result :)Editing
Usualy every picture is post processing. Basicly for checking the quality: sharpnes, lights and propetly white balance. In my camera bag
My personal set: Nikon D610, 50mm 1.4 Nikkor, 24-70 mm Nikkor those my favorite, 15-30mm Tamron, tripod, pilot, flash.Feedback
I got 3 Tips for you: Prepare your scene before you start to take pictures. My model was a cat, so to create good and calm atmosphere, don't hurry. Photographing pets (especially cats) requires a quiet sourrounding . Prepare your camera settings before you start to take pictures. ISO, F, Time. Make a test. There is nothing wrong with using a tripod :). Prepare your model (of course some nice treats were required) to make her do what you need her to before you start to take pictures. Good luck!
