I took this photo in Iceland during a trip organized in February in search of the Northern LightsTime
The visit to this waterfall was carefully planned and we arrived on the spot shortly after sunrise. The thermometer showed -17 degrees and an icy wind kept us awake despite a sleepless night in search of the Northern Lights. Everything on that trip was wonderful and we didn't feel fatigue, hunger or sleep ....Lighting
In Iceland, the winter months are great for photography. The hours of light are few and you experience a single and constant twilight. The light is diffused and allows you to better manage each shotEquipment
During the trip I had a Nikon D7100 (I wish I had already had the current D750 ...) with the 11-16 tokina that I used for most of the landscape shots. Obviously I had a tripod to be able to use long exposures and an ND filter, I have not forgotten a couple of spare batteries and the protection for reflex and lenses.Inspiration
The wonderful scenery that I found in front of me was already a more than valid reason to shoot. If we then add a grazing and diffused light, the magic was served. We spent several hours shooting in this placeEditing
Post production was absolutely light. I developed the raw file with the usual adjustments regarding contrast and sharpness. I cleaned some spots caused by water droplets in the surrounding air.In my camera bag
Now my backpack consists of the d750, the 50 mm 1.8 from which I never separate, the tamron 15/30, the 24/70 2.8 and the tamron 100/400. There is also a flash and its triggersFeedback
Try to follow your dreams and travel (when it is possible again :( ) looking for new and charming places. Plan your trips especially when the weather conditions are critical
