I took this photo in Shelburne, Vermont.Time
I took this one mid morning. The foliage was already gone in the mountains, in the valley there was still some color.Lighting
Cloudy days work best for photos of fall foliage.Equipment
I use a Canon Rebel. No flash or tripod, nothing fancy.Inspiration
I like to (when I have free time) go out and look for photos. I drove by this one. I have a rule, if it looks good at first glance turn around and go back and take the picture. Fall in Vermont is a beautiful time of year. At the start of the foliage season taking photos of beautiful landscape's is easy. As the season moves on it's harder to find the beautiful photo's. The Champlain Valley is one of the last places to lose it's leaves in the Northern part of the state. Wind and rain takes it tole on the leaves. So late in the season I stick to the valley.Editing
I cropped this a little and tweaked the color a little bit.In my camera bag
Camera, spare battery. Mono pod.Feedback
If you think the photo will look good, take the picture. Turn around and go back, it won't be there next time your there.
