Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken on the beach in Harwich. At low tide, there is an old Victorian walkway to this lighthouse, which is submerged at high tide. The cranes in the background are actually across the water in Felixstowe.

Time

The picture was taken around about 5 or 6 AM.

Lighting

Natural early morning light.

Equipment

Canon EOS650 with 18-135 lens. Hand held.

Inspiration

I liked the way the lighthouse was reflected in the water.

Editing

I used lightroom to tweak the picture.

In my camera bag

Just my camera.

Feedback

I wrecked my boots taking this picture, as had to walk fairly close to the lighthouse which meant I was ankle deep in mud and calf deep in the sea! I am a great believer in taking lots of shots, from lots of different angles. At the time I was photographing daily, and would regularly come home with 2 or 3 hundred images.
