Location
I was cruising round the countryside looking for photo ops when I came across this sad and lonely horse. It was perfect in every way.Time
The day was overcast and threatening rain. I could feel the energy in the air, but the pony was calling out to me so I thought it's too good to miss and decided to get wet and get the shot.Lighting
The colour of the horse and the grey day added to the misty appearance of the setting.Equipment
This was captured on my trusty EOS 500D Canon.Inspiration
I love animals, insects and flowers. This horse had a quality about it that made me stop and interact with it. I thought it would make others feel the same.Editing
I had to do a wee bit of post-processing, just crop and level enhancementsIn my camera bag
As I'm an amateur, I have never taken notice of the names/sizes of the lens, just the short one and the long one. I do have a tripod, but didn't use it for this shotFeedback
I am always searching for unusual angles or light. Always carry my camera with me. Visit possible photo ops at different times of the day for different lighting and scene changes. Keep an open mind and crop when necessary.
