This was one of a few dinner plate dahlias I had a few years ago. Huge, beautiful flowers, some 6-7 inches across. THe color and lighting on this one was perfect. Macro flower shots are one of my favorite things to shoot. Of course, I say that a lot about several different subjects. (Like barns, fences and fog.)Time

It was just a beautiful evening with perfect light, low sun (my favorite time of day to take photos) and lots of flowers in my garden.Equipment
Believe it or not, this was from my pocket camera. It's a Canon sx260 hs. I carry it everywhere. The settings were 1/125 sec., f3.5, ISO400Inspiration
I like to take macro images of my flowers. I have a garden that is mostly old-fashioned....lavender, ,daisy, foxglove, lilies, and a few roses. Unfortunately, I don't have the dahlias any more.Editing
No, this is directly from the camera....as is.In my camera bag
I now have a Canon T5i with a Tamron 16-300. I use it for almost everything. But I still carry the 260 in my purse. You never know what you'll see.Feedback
Just keep your eyes open for something you may never have noticed before.. A tripod comes in handy for macro, especially if there's any wind. Depth of field is very small when shooting close-up.
