Behind The Lens

Location

This was one of my first attempts at the Milky Way, armed with the comment from a forum “if you can see it, you can photograph it” taken at burton dassett hill country park

Time

Was around 23:00hrs and quite a few people out watching the meteor shower

Lighting

It was dark the only light was natural or the pollution domes from towns in the distance

Equipment

This was shot with a D5200 and the 18-55mm kit lens, on tripod with Infra remote

Inspiration

I knew the area from mountain biking and walking so knew the mining vent cap would make a great foreground o

Editing

Yes , there was a dongle raw shot taken and the edited through photoshop raw and finished in lightroom

In my camera bag

I now have my D500, a Sigma 10-30 F3.5 for land scapes and night shots, my trusty walk about lens Nikon 70-300 AF-P and the nature lens Sigma 150-600c

Feedback

Go visit in the day light to find the spots and use astronomy apps to see where the arch of the Milky Way is going to be and watch the weather
