Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo near a dam. I was standing really high, looking down on the side where was just some water's leftovers. It really stroke me how messy and filthy it looks, but also how the light is spreading on this puddles down there. I captured this scenery, then I cut the image in order to have a different photos from one. This is one of them.

Time

I was so glad not to be in the city that day, because it was one of this "grey" days, when all of the sky is covered by clouds. I can't take this kind of wheather in the city, buildings always seems so filthy and dark then. In this kind of days, nature always have your back. It was like an hour to twilight, so it was bright enough and I didn't have to set up my ISO so high. I love the grain in photography but I didn't wanted it in this photo set, there was already plenty of that on the ground.

Lighting

i wanted the light to gently spread in this image to get an impression of space. That one could sense light and grounds as soft but also to imitate some facture.

Equipment

I only used my Canon EOS 1100D, I didn't take a tripod with me that day. I don't have any other lenses except standard lens, unfortunetly I can't afford it right now.

Inspiration

I love abstraction! It's not like this one photo came from the one, exact inspiration. There's a years of my fascination about photography and digital paintings, fantasy worlds created in many of them but also those created in movies, books and games, science-fiction. I'm also interested in spiritual world and psychedelic experiences. My love to art inflicted my photography as well (especially painting) and gathering knowledge about it, studying color and perception. I am still a student and amateur with a cheap equipment but I'm hoping to be one day a great artist who gives others inspiration, one of this pebbles bringing forward history of mankind, here in photography. I heard that a lot of times that If you dream big, you'll become big. I believe this is true, so I am setting aside all of my doubts, fears and stepping on this hard road. One of the first steps was to join Viewbug and upload my photos. ;)

Editing

I'm almost always post-processing my photos to get this "other" world impression. I'm changing brightness, contrast, hue and saturation. This is really fun and I love it! This is the moment where I finish my creations, this is a huge part of my work.

In my camera bag

I don't really have much, I have only my camera, with a standard lens. Sometimes I do some photos with my phone. So I really appreciate I have photoshop, so I can revel.

Feedback

I'm really not good enough to give someone any advices. I'm taking pictures sometimes of very strange things, that a normal person would never think of! Like walls, puddles and many ugly stuff, not really interesting to anyone, but I see through my imagination (and camera) beautiful things. So if it is any advice to anyone, I could only say - find your own way, do what you love, be very strong, don't listen to those who don't believe in you and everything will be just fine. I think so. But again, I'm really in no position to advice anyone.
