I took this photo in my house to test out the natural lighting.Time
I took this photo in the late afternoon when you can tell that the day is winding down and I wanted to catch the natural light of the sun before it disappeared for the day.Lighting
I had the model look out of a window to get the best reflection and natural light possible. I loved the way the window pane is reflected in one of her eyes.Equipment
I was surprised with the great quality of this photo because I simply took it on my flash and point canon that is a couple years old. I had just gotten a nicer camera but I was using it as a crutch and I wasn't getting creative with my photos so I went back to my flash and point for the shoot.Inspiration
I love the natural; no make-up look my subject is rocking. I also loved the reflection in her eye. It doesn't take up the whole eye, but just enough it.Editing
I love my subjects ice-blue eyes, but her skin was a little discolored. I decided to test out black and white and after I messed with the contrast and highlights I realized that it was surprisingly better looking in black and white. It makes you wonder what color the subjects eyes actually are.In my camera bag
My bag seems to change every time I go out to take photos, but some essentials are my Canon T5 rebel and my Canon point and shoot. I like to switch up which lens I am looking through. I also carry an extra memory card just in case I really love my subject and take more photos then I expected, which usually seems to happen.Feedback
Natural lighting is always your best friend and don't worry about getting close enough to the eye to see the reflection. Just a little cropping will do the trick. Also try using macro mode when shooting just to see if you can get more detail from the eye.
