Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in a small shop on the coast of the Bosphorus Strait, up towards te opening to the Black Sea. I'm always attuned to colors and textures, so these items really jumped out to me!

Time

I know this was taken in the afternoon because my dad and I went on a ferry trip up the strait on an absolutely gorgeous day in Istanbul in either the end of December or beginning of January.

Lighting

You can tell there are different lighting sources at work here: the warmer overhead lighting in the shop and the brighter outdoor lighting coming in from the right.

Equipment

My Olympus Pen E-PL1!

Inspiration

Vibrant colors and textures are my favorite things to photograph, so visiting Istanbul is a treat for anyone like me! There are gorgeous items in every shop -- just take the time to look!

Editing

I don't think I did any post-processing. Sometimes the image straight out of the camera is god enough for me so I don't bother editing.
