Behind The Lens

Location

I pass by the busy market place in Lower Parel, Mumbai where I'm always in a rush to catch my train at the station nearby. This little one was napping on the rooftop of a car!

Time

In the chaos of rush hour at 5 pm, I found her enjoying the sun and using the car protective covers as a blanket. I often carry my camera in my bag, just in case I spot something that catches my eye and there she was waking up from her nap time. The sunny white sky against her beautiful fur was a perfect combination and I remember giving her some milk for an evening snack. This photo was taken on 24th April 2015 late afternoon.

Lighting

It all boiled down to luck and timing, the even lighting and blown sky allowed me to take a low angle shot against the sky and still avoid a silhouette. No additional lighting was used in this photo.

Equipment

All I had was my Canon EOS 700D and 55-250mm lens. No other equipment was involved.

Inspiration

The simplicity and timing of the photo was a beautiful coincidence. I am glad she caught my eye and couldn't myself but click a photo.

Editing

The only post-process correction I did was making the image slightly brighter and turning it black and white.

In my camera bag

I always have my camera in my bag and no other equipment. I carry my Canon EOS 700D, 18-55 mm and 55-250mm lens.
