Behind The Lens

Location

I took this picture in the beautiful Targhee National Forest near Island Park (ID)

Time

It was around midnight

Lighting

The lighting is from our beloved galaxy the magnificent Milky Way

Equipment

Fujifilm X-T1 - Fujinon 18-55 F2.8-4 - Manfrotto tripod

Inspiration

The night there was really dark with no moon and nearly no light pollution and it was the first time I ever saw the Milky way in my life. It really left me breathless so I had to took that picture.

Editing

Yes I've done some adjustments in Adobe Lightroom to make the Milky Way pop

In my camera bag

Fujifilm X-T1 - Fujinon 18-55 F2.8-4 - Fujinon 55-200 F3.5-4.8 - Samyang 12mm F2 - ND Filters - Extra batteries - Cleaning kit

Feedback

Since it was my first time doing astrophotography I didn't really nailed the focus so my advice is not to focus to infinity as I did but instead pick the brightest star and focus on it. The other advice is, after you took the picture, take some time to enjoy the vastness of space.
