Many spectators walked around and between the crescent moon art installation by Ai WeiWei. I positioned my camera to capture two of their faces as they peeked through the moons, while keeping some moon crescents visible.

Location
This photo was taken at an art exhibition.Time
It was an indoor photo captured in an art gallery.Lighting
The lighting was ambient light in the art gallery, additional lighting was not applied.Equipment
This photo was taken with a mirrorless DSLR, without tripod or flash.Inspiration
This art installation was intended to represent phases of the moon as viewers walked by and looked at the entire sculpture series. It attracted many viewers to pause and look through each of the openings. As these 2 viewers happened to be in the perfect location in relation to the sculpture, it inspired me to capture this image, "Through the Looking Moon".Editing
Minimal post-processing was done to adjust colour balance, and then the image was cropped to its current format. In my camera bag
When photographing in the city, I usually go with minimal gear. A mirrorless DSLR is very convenient for taking photos inside art galleries or museums, where permitted.Feedback
For "street photography" style of images, it's important to be ready with a camera for inspiration to strike anytime. Patience is required for ideal positioning of candid subjects to create such an image - it required waiting and taking many images near the sculpture to obtain this resulting photo.
