Behind The Lens

Location

This Photo was taken from a Harbor Tour Boat in Galveston Harbor during my Vacation on July 3, 2008.

Time

It was taken at 3:15 pm.

Lighting

Nothing other than what is evident, The sun was behind me to the left of Camera.

Equipment

The Camera I was using at the time was a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ8, Hand Held on Manual, Settings were 1/500 sec., F/6.3, 6 mm, ISO 100 The image was taken in JPG format.

Inspiration

I really liked the way the Gulls were surrounding the vessel.

Editing

The Image was cropped with adjustments made to Vibrancy and Contrast.

In my camera bag

At the time this was taken the only other things in my bag, was a spare battery and charger and a lens cloth..Now is a different story..Now I'm using a Canon Rebel T5 and in my bag is a Speedlite, a Canon 18-55 IS lens, A Canon 75-300 zoom lens, a Tamron 2x extender, Spare Flash Batteries and Charger, Spare Camera Battery and Charger, Lens cloth, and assorted filters.I also carry a Notebook and Pen, and a spare Wireless mouse.

Feedback

Just keep your eyes open and look in all directions you might see something that is better than what is in front of you, Don't be afraid of your equipment, and experiment with your settings (but keep a record of them either in camera or in a notebook) sometimes an accident will be better than a planned shot. Do not be intimidated by other photographers work,Remember they see things differently than you do.
