Location
I had the opportunity to take this photo at a friends farm. They asked me to shoot some photos of their setters to use personally and for potential advertising because the dogs were show dogs. The farm was located in Kalamazoo Michigan.Time
This was taken at almost twighlight. The late afternoon lighting along with the snow made the shot look incredible. I could not belive it when I put the memory card in the computer and the image appeared on the screen. This photo was one of the type that everything pulled together in perfect harmony.Lighting
The lighting was all natural. Winter time provides some interesting aspects that affect lighting you cannot find any other time of year.Equipment
All that was used was my Nikon D40.. I was on the move following the dogs so this left little opportunity for tripods. The natural lighting made it so I did not wish to interfere with unnatural sources.Inspiration
The beauty of the dog was all the inspiration I needed. Being there watching it run around and play in the snow was so magnificent. I hoped to capture some of the beauty of the moment to share with others.Editing
Pretty much the only processing I did was crop the photo a little. The image required very little improvement. In my camera bag
My bag usually consists of my Nikon, a few lenses, and a flash. The way I typically shoot my goal is to keep the image as close to natural as possible.Feedback
To capture simular images just keep your eyes open for the perfect moment. If you do not see the beauty all around us you may miss the perfect opportunity.
