Stunning - love the way it pops off the blue. I enjoy capturing flowers and this is a beauty.

Location
This shot was taken during the spring of 2015 at "Mynel Gardens" in Clinton, Ms. Minell Gardens is a quite getaway for everyone to enjoy the beautiful garden and enjoy the many beautiful flowers throughout it. It's also a hot spot for local photographers to do Photo Shoots.Time
It was taken during the early morning hours. During what photographers call' The Golden Hours. That's when the sun is at a low point in the horizon and, it great natural light and, it cast shadows.Lighting
I used the golden hours natural light. Natural light gives off just enough light to not wash out your photographs.Equipment
A Canon 40 D SLR Digital camera was used here' with a Tamron 70 to 200mm lens. I shot the photograph using Spot focus to hone in the flowers bud. Also' I shoot using AV mode. I never trust giving a camera full control over how my photographs will turn out. A lens hood was used on my lens. It is a hand held shot. I had the f-stop set to f-4 I also went into my control panel and found color saturation mode and. I turned it up level.Inspiration
I was inspired by several factors here. First' this flower was gorgeous. Secondly' I saw what I knew would turn out to be an amazingly beautiful photograph that i had envisioned in my mind. Lastly' I have a deep passion for nature.Editing
There was absolutely no post-processing did to this photograph. It is 100% a result of my hard work, and countless hours of study on photography. In my camera bag
That just depends on where and what I am about to go shoot.Feedback
My advise is first and foremost' learn your camera & learn the settings and what they are for & capable of achieving. Spend time with your camera on a flower' use av mode set your f-stop on different settings with each shot you take. Have a tablet to document all of your shots 1st through ever how many you took. Start at the first photograph and write down what you set your settings on with that shot! Continue this however long you wish. Load them to your computer & search for the best looking at your tablet at what your setting was on with that shot. Take online photography courses / and sit in on many photography classes as possible. Lastly' shoot' shoot' shoot' shoot! Oh' did I mention shoot? Get out as often as you can & put to work out in the field the lessons you've been taught.
