Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken at the Bidvest Wanderers cricketing stadium in South Africa during the Holi Festival Of Colours. I am a self-taught photographer as photography becomes part of me every day after knock off...

Time

This is one of my favorite photos, I remember running towards the action as they began the count-down to the 1st color explosion of the day and this shot was taken at 2014/08/24 03:32 PM

Lighting

I had pre-planned the type of shot I wanted and how i hoped the afternoon sun light would look through the color explosion, but due to the fact that i came early to asses the scene before the event started i was already sipping on a beer, because i was not focusing too much on my drinking, I soon realized i was a "li'll buzzed" so I opted to automatic mode on my cam and hoped for the best...

Equipment

This was shot on a Canon EOS 1100D 58mm lens. no other gadgets were used.

Inspiration

As this was my 1st time capturing life action i knew i had little control on the action and wont have many chances to capture the atmosphere, so i had to hope for the best.

Editing

At that stage i was not a big fan of photo editing, I believed in what i used to call "Organic Photography"...

In my camera bag

I usually travel light and with the least equipment as possible,Canon EOS 1100D cam, 58mm lens and sometime filters a tripot and sometimes a Canon EF 75-300mm III Lens...

Feedback

Always stay "focused" and as its hard not to want to join in the action...
