It was around midday, it wasn't planned photo trip just normal day out with my daughter in the park. But as always wherever I go my gear is with me, because you never know when the next perfect shot will appear in front of you. And I love those shots more then from planned trips, because they happens to be perfect in every way with minimum post processing.Lighting
natural midday light, although it was cloudy and kind of misty day, the Stag was resting under the trees where was even darker there for had to shoot wide open which with my Tamron 70-300 lense was 4.5 , also didn't wanted to crank up ISO so shot with shutter speed below focal length, but used monopod to eliminate camera shake.Equipment
it was shot with Canon 7D lense Tamron 70-300 and monopod. I prefer monopod over tripod as it gives me more flexibilityInspiration
most definitely grass on his face. There was another Stag near by and I thought that they had a fight and this one was defeated grass all over the face but still with gracious pose. There for I gave it a name 'Knight of Burghley House'Editing
I normally try to do minimum post processing, on this image I edited in RAW highlights, shadows, dark and whites, then in Photoshop desaturated green color, because it was distracting from the subject. In my camera bag
Canon 7D, tamron 70-300, canon 10-18, monopod also comes handy as a stick, extra batteries, mini tripod 5" also normal size one in the carFeedback
I don't know what advise to give. I suppose have your gear with you all the time, because you never know what's behind the next corner.
