Location
This photo was taken at Piedras Rojas near San Pedro de Atacama, Chile. The weather that day was incredibly cold and it had snowed overnight, rare for the Atacama Desert, one of the driest deserts in the world.Time
This photo was taken shortly after daybreak.Lighting
This photo was taken shortly after daybreak and only natural lighting was used.Equipment
This photo was taken on my iPhone. Having traveled to Chile for study abroad, I was not expecting to see the incredible beauty of the country and hadn't planned ahead for taking photography equipment.Inspiration
I was inspired to take this picture because the view was breathtaking to me. It was my first full day of a short trip to San Pedro de Atacama, Chile and I had never expected to find a sight like this in the middle of the desert. The soft colors of the landscape combined with the early morning light made this a great picture to take.Editing
I did minimal light and color adjustments to clear up a bit of the haze from the early morning light. In my camera bag
I'm an amateur and I use my iPhone for photography.Feedback
As an amateur, I don't have much experience or knowledge about proper photography techniques. I would recommend to other amateurs to relax and enjoy your surroundings. A good photograph has life and passion in it and that is best achieved by having a photographer have life and passion for the subject.
