Location
This photo was taken at the falls in AuSable Chasm in Chesterfield (aka Keeseville) New York. We had a wicked cold spell and everything was frozen.Time
I took this around 11 am. I waited for the sun to come out big and bright but it did not happen that day. The shot came out beautiful anyway.Lighting
I am a raw photo girl. I shoot what I see. I usually do not pay attention to the sweet spot.Equipment
I was using my Canon SX60 HS that day.Inspiration
Taking photos at the falls in always a fun time. The ice makes for some brilliant shots any time of day. Layers and layers of ice make the beauty.Editing
I did not do any post processing. As I said earlier, I shoot and print what I see. The beauty of photography is in what you shoot, not the processing after. Photography, to me, is sharing what I see through my eyes, not about changing it with filters and lighting changes. In my camera bag
I usually carry a couple of cameras and lenses, lens ball, micro cleaning cloths, fully charged batteries, battery charger for the car, etc.Feedback
My only advice is to shoot what looks good to you. When shooting for yourself, you kind of “feel” what is right. It comes with practice. In this day of technology, you can practice all you want until you get what you want.
