Behind The Lens

Location

I Took this Photo in the Kruger National Park in South Africa

Time

The Photo was taken early in the morning shortly after sunrise at 08.58 am

Lighting

The Soft morning light and the position of the Cheetah worked well to enable me to capture him in hunting mode

Equipment

I used a Canon 70D with a Tamron 150 - 600 lens. Using a beanbag on the window frame of the car for stability.

Inspiration

My passion is wildlife and I think that the Cheetah is one of the most elegant cats in the park. When he went behind the dead tree and stood on the trunk for elevation and a better view, it looked like he was rising out of the ashes.

Editing

I just do basic post-processing such as lifting the lighting and exposure.

In my camera bag

My camera, lens, lens brush for removing dust, hand towel, and shower cap ( for covering the front of my lens when driving around)

Feedback

Wildlife photography takes hours and hours and lots of luck as you are totally at the mercy of mother nature. Get up early spend the first e hours and the last e hours of the day looking for the predators. Be patient and don't give up.
