Behind The Lens
Location
Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. The province's Capitol city.Time
Actually mid afternoon this was taken around 4pm I thinkLighting
This was challenging because I took the image on a very bright but overcast day while the front of the building was in the shade and made some changes to the lighting later.Equipment
Canon t2i and Canon 55-250mm 5.6 lens no flash likely manual focus; handheld.Inspiration
I'm in love with this building I take photos of it every time I get a chance, this is the only really good one I've ever shoto and a lot went into it. The Victoria Parliament Building was designed and put to action by a man my age (25) in the early 1800's and this building both serves to remind me what is possible with perseverance but it's also incredibly beautiful.Editing
I removed some people from the stairs, added a carefully planned sky overlay of my own, a photo I took several months earlier, changed the lighting according to the sky and placed the overlay where I imagined it should be when I took the shot on the harbour that same day I knew what sky I needed. I adjusted some shadows and cloned out a few small distractions on the grass. In my camera bag

Just enjoy your art! It's not all about perfect in camera shots you don't always have to wait for the sky to be perfect overlays are amazing to add character to an already great shot. Don't be afraid to try new things and be wierd!
