Mei Xiang is a giant panda at the Smithsonian National Zoo in Washington, DC. She recently gave birth to a male cub named Bei Bei. I visited their den and, as expected, Bei Bei was sound asleep. Mei Xaing decided to come into the den, crawl to the top of a rock overlooking the cub and began eating a carrot while looking through the glass at the visitors getting a glimpse of her and her cub.
