This photo was taken at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi, UAE. It depicts the marble floor of the central courtyard of the mosque.Time
The image was created in early afternoon under a very clear sunny day. I faced two challenges with this image including how to avoid a complete white washed image given the intensity and angle of the sunlight and how to avoid crowds and people interfering with the view. I dropped the exposure settings and waited...and waited...and waited for a window with no people. Luck is always part of a great shot!Lighting

The beautiful artwork on the marble floor that was created by British artist Kevin Dean who designed the botanic mosaics inspired this shot. I could not leave this site without capturing this incredible work.Editing
I did some slight exposure editing to this shot - not much else.In my camera bag
I generally carry a small tripod, a wide and standard zoom lens and the camera of course. I now love the platypod tripod products which are so easy to carry and inobtrusive in locations such as this.Feedback
To capture any image, particularly images like this where there are many people around, I find that I must focus on being mindfully present and then on being mindfully patient! ????
