Kilimanjaro, at 5,895m Africa's highest mountain, stands tall in Tansania.
I've taken this photograph out of an airplane doing an extra tour around the mountain after leaving Mombasa towards Europe.
Due to global warming,, most of the ice on Kilimanjaro will disappear by 2040. Dissapearance of the ice and snow will have big impacts on the region, as the forests of Kilimanjaro, far below the ice fields, are essential water reservoirs for the local and regional populations.

I have stood alone at the top of this magnificent mountain and breathed air not too many before me have. For a few minutes I was alone at the top of Africa, it was amazing!
