Location
This shot was taken in Temagami Ontario on Lake Obabika. We were honoured to be invited to participate in the Changing of the Season ceremony in September. Chief Alex Mathias is featured here during the smudging ceremony.Time
This was about noon. The sky was so clear and blue it was a perfect day.Lighting
Chief Mathias was turned to the south so the sun was in his face. I waited for this to happen so that I could capture the beautiful character of his face and the vibrancy of his headdress.Equipment
This was taken with my Nikon D90, Nikon 55-200mm zoom lens. No tripod as I was moving around for all angle shots.Inspiration
Haha, kind of a silly question for this shot! It was begging to be immortalized.Editing
A little cropping but that is all.In my camera bag
Nikon D90 body, 55-200mm. Sigma wide angleFeedback
Let the moment happen and be ready to capture it. It might take a minute or a day, but it will be worth it. And many more shots might come by in the meantime!
