Location
It was taken on the WestCoast of the Italian island Sardinia during a hike in the late afternoon and the sun was already loweringTime
At the end of the afternoon at low tide the colours were magnificent.Lighting
Into the sun is always a tricky thing. The best results for me are with my 20/1.8 mm lens but this one was made with the 14-24/2.8 with a high diafragma which results in a certain underexposure for the shades which need to be adjusted in Lightroom.Equipment
In thins case the nikon 14-24/2.8 which is a very fine lens. It is very vulnerable for flare and dust. so especially with this kinda shots you need to check lens first fort dust and spots. The d800e was my first ssatisfactory sensor.Inspiration
I saw the puddle and i saw the low sun. That always triggers me...even nowadays.Editing
Adjusting the shades properly is one of the key factors when pointing your lens into the sun.In my camera bag
nowadays normally the Nikon D850 with the 16-35 on it and the 105/1.4 next to it. Do not use the 28-300 anymore as it has too many abberations in comparison to the others.Feedback
Always use a high diafragm when pointing into the sun. It requires adjusting but with a good sensor the low are easier to adjust than the highs.
