Location
This image was taken during my first studio lighting course. Given the look of the model and what she was wearing,I tried to go for a kind of "GAP" esque fashion pose.Time
This was shot during the day in the studio.Lighting
Thus was a simple single light setup, one large octabox camera right with two white v flats either side of the model to bounce some light back in.Equipment
I shot this on my Canon 5D Mark iii with the 70-200mm f2.8 ii usm L lens. The lights were Broncolor Siros.Inspiration
I guess my inspiration for this was modern catalogue styled images you see in magazines. It was early in my studio career so wanted to keep it simple.Editing
I colour corrected in Adobe Raw before moving to PS cc. I did some basic skin retouching to remove blemishes and even skin tones and thats it.In my camera bag
I normally travel with my Canon 5D mark iii and 6D as a backup. I carry two Neewer flashes and 4 lenses at any one time depensing on what im shooting.Feedback
Best advice I can offer if starting out with flash photogrsphy is book yourself on a course or workshop. These are an invaluable way of getting hands on practice with professional models together with the guidance of an experienced photographer. After that, get practicing!
