Location
I took this photo during a trip to Kenya. I was pretty excited as it was my first opportunity to shoot photos of wildlife on a safari.Time
The photo was taken on a late afternoon safari.Lighting
I had no control over the light. Afternoon clear skies allowed for a faster shutter speed.Equipment
Used my first dSLR a Canon EOS Kiss X4 body with a Tamron 18-270 zoom lens. Hand held, ISO 125, 200mm, f/6.3, shutter speed 1/160 sec.Inspiration
I was shooting all wildlife that I could see, big and small. This bird was very small, sitting quietly and innocuously out of the way, looking like it was waiting for something.Editing
No post processing apart from contrast enhancement. Shot in JPEG on that occasion. In my camera bag
I have a Canon EOS 7D II body as I like to take wildlife and action shots. I primarily use prime lenses as I think the images are crisper. The lenses I pack are Canon, 24mm, 35mm, 50mm, and 100mm macro and a 75-300mm zoom lens as my telephoto. Depending on the situation I usually plan to use just use one of the lenses, but have gotten pretty reasonable at swapping lenses over quickly when required.Feedback
Enjoy the moment, look for opportunities and shoot as much as you can, review and shoot again until you are happy with the image.
