Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was actually taken in my living room by the French doors that lead outside. So that's the sun light coming hitting him on one side that made this awesome picture

Time

I'm not sure of what time it was but I think it was the afternoon.

Lighting

What made this picture was the natural lighting coming through the French doors hitting his face on one side and then the darkness of the living room on the other. Perfect!!

Equipment

This picture was taken with a Nikon D5200 handheld. No flash

Inspiration

What made me grab the camera was the lighting was just so perfect coming through the French doors and I have been wanting a great photo of our Boston terrier named Ollie! He was sitting by the French doors and I had to capture that moment.

Editing

I did very little to this photo. I used Photoshop to help darken the side a little bit more than what it already was.

In my camera bag

At that time I took the photo, I had just gotten the Nikon D5200. I only had two lenses at that point. I have now upgraded to a full frame which I love. The Nikon D5200 was a great starter camera for me. Loved it and the great photos from it.

Feedback

The only advice I can give was always have your camera near you. I did not plan this photo. This was just a moment I saw and grab my camera and took the photo as fast as I could before he moved. So always be on the lookout for a great moment and have your camera nearby.
