Behind The Lens
Location
The place is Taal Lake in Batangas, Philippines. I always visit my brother's place because of the beautiful scenery at the lake. Most of the folks were fishermen and sometimes I go with them out in the lake to take photos while enjoying the breeze and the sulfury smell of the lake.Time
This photo was shot early in the morning about 6:30. The sun is already out creating the yellow undertones in the scenery.Lighting
I planned to shoot the scene early in the morning to show how the folks prepare their daily routine before they go out fishing. The warm color of the low sun is desirable to enhance the colours of the scene.Equipment
I used my Canon EOS 60D f/5.6 1/500sec ISO 500 28mm. I did not use tripod nor flash because of the spur of the moment.Inspiration
I was inspired by the folks to have me take their photos and at the same time improving my knowledge in composing the visual elements in a photo.Editing
I did some post-processing using Adobe Lightroom 5. I did some minimal adjustment in HSL/COLOR experimenting on hue saturation and luminance. In my camera bag
In my bag, I always carry with me my 50mm prime, kit lens 18-55, Canon Speedlight 430 EXII and a tripod.Feedback
For others who want to capture this kind of photo do it in the "Magic Hours."
