Didn't like this but two birds were fighting over fishing rights-territory in the river never where we live. The larger Egret actually bit and pecked the smaller heron to a place where after we rescued him from the river he gave up the fight and died at the Vets office. I believe he just lost the will to live as I've seen some pretty tuff fights but this was a brutal attack by the larger bird.
