Location
This photo was taken in Iceland. You need to drive to the area where the falls is located and then hike about a mile to the base of the waterfall.Time
This image was taken in the early evening time frame on an over castdayLighting
The high clouds created a vert flat soft box type lighting and that helped keep the contrast from the bright sky and dark rock from creating dynamic range issuesEquipment
Used a Canon 5d mark 3, tripod mounted , the lens was a canon 16 to 35 wide angle zoom. I did wear stream wadders and I am standing in the middle of the river. I also used a circular polarizer to reduce the glare from the water on the rocksInspiration
I was really draw to the waterfall and the contrast to the dark hexagonal basaltic rock.Editing
The post processing work was done in Lightroom and I was trying to keep a large dynamic range and keep strong color in the greens and browns. In my camera bag
I usually have my camera (canon 5d mark 3, at least 3 lenses(16 to 35, 24 to 70 and a 70 to 200 mm zoom lens)Feedback
I did spend some time moving a round in the stream to get the right angle on the falls, the background and the foreground rocks
