Behind The Lens

Location

This image was taken in Zionsville, IN (USA), along Eagle Creek.

Time

Mid-Afternoon

Lighting

I was facing south, with the light almost overhead.

Equipment

I used a Canon T2i, with a 60mm macro lens, and a tripod.

Inspiration

There is a walking path along Eagle Creek, and I just went there with the hopes of catching something with the creek as a background. The path goes under a bridge that spans the creek. And, that is where I found these seed pods. I like the seed pods right off, but as I set the tripod up, it began to sleet. The large white chunks are pieces of sleet.

Editing

Just a little bit of Photoshop but nothing really drastic. Have started using the Nik Collection via Photoshop.

In my camera bag

I have several lenses of various focal lengths; from ultra wide angles, to a 300mm zoom. Plus an assortment of filters, mainly ND.

Feedback

Make sure there isn't any wind. If there is, then switch the camera to multiple exposures, and take a burst shot of three or five exposures. Then, in post processing, you can pick the best image.
