I had been spending a glorious afternoon at our Ecology Park. It was so quiet - only the sounds of the birds, animals and buzz of insects could be heard. Suddenly two young boys (around 11 years old) sped up beside me on their bicycles. Dried mud all over them, so excited to show me their 'treasures'. They had caught some Frogs in a nearby creek-swamp. This young fellow, Riley, was being so careful not to drop these 'friends' of his. To him, they were more than 'just frogs'. This young frog perched upon Riley's hand reminds me of us sometimes. Sometimes we are in a position where we are afraid to look at what may lie ahead, preferring to stay in that 'safe place' rather than even dare to peer into the future. There can be many reasons for feeling this way. From my experience, it is always so soothing to know that Someone is there who cares enough to shield us from any danger that may befall us. Yet through no fault of our own and no matter what precautions we have put in place, we will experience times that are not pleasant. If we are fortunate, we will be given the strength, or if we dare to reach deep down inside to find the strength, it is possible to face these difficult times. I find it reassuring to have come to a place in life where I am confidante that I am never really 'alone'. Someone walks beside me, and when I come out on the other side, hopefully I will be able to help someone else who may be facing similar circumstances. (your visits and thoughts shared are always welcomed - Gail :)
