Location
This was taken at a friend's house we affectionately call "Dean's Place". He has several rooms that are easy to empty out, so it bodes great to shoot things like this at his place!Time
This was shot later at night on a projection shoot, I believe towards the end of the shoot. This image came up and I had her stand in the corner and she posed and this shot happened!Lighting
This is lit just by the projector, which took a bit to get the settings just right but I believe it lends itself to a lot of emotions and shadows!Equipment
Canon EOS Rebel T3 and a MeFOTO Aluminum Roadtrip Travel Tripod/Monopod KitInspiration
Before the shoot, I liked to find a good mix of abstract and realistic images with interesting concepts. For this, I like to mix pre-thought out poses with allowing the models to just dance and pose in the moment. Being that this model was a dancer was amazing, and I believe this was a mix of us to come up with the image.Editing
Not a whole lot, I'm not very heavy handed when it comes to editing. I believe it was just cropping, converting to black and white filter, and burning some of the shadows a bit.In my camera bag
My Canon T3, a stock kit lens (18-55mm), Canon 50mm, and a Neewer TT560 Speedlite.Feedback
Get a higher end projector connected to a laptop. Also find images in as highest resolution as you can, watch how "dark" your projected images are as they will be hard to shoot, shoot in as dark of an environment as you can, and lastly find some models that you've worked with before and who don't mind having fun with the images! lol!
