Sorry, phone keyboard to small. Love this! Your use of B&W, plus the vignetting made a perfect combination. Awesome work.

no worries about timing. It can be very hard keeping up with life's demands and try to have time here. I tend to let things go and do VB....at least until i am told to get to work!

Location
In Marina da Gama, Cape Town, there is a tree where sacred ibis come to roost. I was lucky to get some good shots as they came in for the night.Time
It was late afternoon and the sun was getting low.Lighting
I think that the lighting was due to luck, I was not very experienced and it was a point and shoot situation.Equipment
It was shot with my Nikon D310 using a Tamron 16-300 zoom lens. No tripod and no flash.Inspiration
I wanted to take birds, and when I was told about the roosting tree, I just had to go there.Editing
I did process it in Photoshop afterwards. In my camera bag
My Nikon D310 with the Tamron 16-300mm lens (which I seldom take off), a small tripod, SD cards, a spare battery and a remote shutter release. I now have a second Nikon D310 with a macro lens for close ups.Feedback
I think that luck and patience plays a big part in such shots. Knowing your camera helps, too.
