Jose Rizal is the Philippine's national hero who lived in the later half of the 1800's. He rebelled against Spanish colonization and as result was executed for treason. Before his execution, he was exiled to Dapitan, a far-flung barrio in the southern Philippines. This picture is where he was exiled and is now a national shrine.
