Summer time with cool winds from the water, around 9pm (3 years ago)Lighting
Lighting is one of the most important components in framing a photo. In this photo the Opera bar (front subject) was lit up just slightly, so having my exposure on about 0.8" and moving the lens created enough light to see without editing.Equipment
Sony a57 (Love the Sony), 18-55mm kit Lens & TripodInspiration
I wanted to play with the lens zoom on long exposure to see the different effects it has on night lights. I also wanted to capture the harbour Bridge, without the mainstream appeal.Editing
I pumped up the clarity ever so slightlyIn my camera bag
Extra battery and SD cards. A packed lunch, in case I get carried away for hours (likely to happen). Different lenses, depending on the occasion, mostly I have my prime 50mm, 18-250mm, and wide 10-20mm. And of course my Pentax asashi film camera.Feedback
Set up at night with something that inspires you. Play with the exposure, different lights will always change this. Photography teaches us to constantly adapt to our inspiration, light is forever changing. Change is the only constant. If you want to capture definition, use tripod and your subjects should be as still as possible. Thank you for reading. Much love and light Tribe. Now go out and take some photos!!
