Location
In Greece, at a seashore not far from Athens city, in Springtime.Time
Apparently it was sunset time about 5 pm. The clouds on the sky diffused the "tangerine light" so well.Lighting
I waited until most of the (relatively very bright) Sun was hidden behind a dense cloud. So the light was even along the frame and a small trace of the sun-light was visible on the sea. The colours are real, only slightly enhanced in post-processing.Equipment
Camera was a Nikon D700, handheld at base ISO (200) , shot in raw , so to have the widest dynamic rangeInspiration
The light and the sea everywhere in Greece are fantastic, Especially in Spring and Autumn.Editing
I always post-process my photos with honesty and dignity,.. i.e only basic corrections on tilted horizon, minor cropping, lightness, saturation and contrast enhancements etc. I never "photoshop out" unwanted things on the photo , I usually darken and desaturate them just a bit for not being much distracting. In my camera bag
I am mainly a street-photographer, so I am carrying 1 or max 2 cameras with good a gereral-range zoom lens e.g. 24-120 f4 or a telephoto zoom 70-300mm or 80-200mm . Often I am also changing my second camera with one fitted with an ultrawide-angle lens. I never change lenses on the street.Feedback
For land/sea-scapes, things are quite straightforward. Find a nice place without distracting objects in the frame(eg power-lines, signs, cars etc), essentially shoot at early morning or sunset time, use the lowest ISO setting to improve quality, take care to to "shake" your picture on shooting.. a tripod is not always essential, though always recommended
