Location
I took this photo at my parents' appartment on Christmas evening.Time
It was around 7PM. The sun was set, only leaving a little light.Lighting
The lighting in this photo is interesting since there seemed to be no light left. By taking a very long exposure, around 4 minutes, I was able to capture the glimpse of leftover light after the sunset and at the same time, create a dreamy look with the smoke from the main smokestack.Equipment
Canon 7D MkII, Canon 24-70mm L, variable ND filter, Manfrotto tripod.Inspiration
It was a beautiful, unusually warm christmas evening (no snow, with is very unsual). The sunset was interesting and I took a few of the classic sunset. But I continued to take more photos after last light.Editing
Not much post-processing if I remember. Obviously I cropped the image to get a "panorama look". I probably ajusted color, contrast, etc. And usually, I bring up the clarity a bit.In my camera bag
My camera (7DII), sigma 10-20mm, canon 24-70mm and sometimes I have my sigma 150-500mm (If I'm going birding).Feedback
Be patient. Don't forget that sometimes, there is some light left even if it doesn't see so.
