Man, I sure miss Yosemite, and still yet haven't gone out there yet in this kind of scenery nor have ever taken my camera out there for that matter. Great tones!!

Location
This photo was taken in Yosemite. This very spot is very famous as we can see the gates of Yosemite i.e. El Capitan ,Cathedral Rock and Half Dome in the distance!Time
This was taken during sunrise as this view looks in the east direction during winter time.Lighting
This was shot during sunrise, so the lighting was all natural and soft. The sun hadn't come above the horizon yet, so the light was soft and diffused.Equipment
This was shot on a Nikon D810, Nikon 14-24mm, Benro Tripod and a remote.Inspiration
I'd been driving down to Yosemite every weekend during winter time hoping for snow photos. The night before this photo was taken, we had heavy snows in Yosemite and I knew the next morning would be my best shot at getting it!Editing
I always underexpose my photos so as to not blow the highlights. Since I shoot RAW, it's a lot easier to get the shadows back. I bring out the shadows on lightroom. I adjusted the white balance to mimic the actual scene. In my camera bag
I always carry my Nikon 28-70 as my hiking lens. I use nikon 14-24 for landscapes.Nikon 70-200 for shooting top of mountains or any wildlife. ND1000 filters for my lenses as I shoot a lot of waterfalls and water related subjects.Feedback
Sunrise or sunset are your best friends. Try to look up weather forecast and shoot based on that. There are some apps on iPhone which tell you if sunset/sunrise is going to be good. Clear skies are never usually good for sunrise sunsets. Clouds definitely add a great touch. Also winter time in my experience has the best skies!
