Behind The Lens

Location

Country road less traveled and where the prey was plenty.

Time

Taking country drives is my favorite pastime, most of my drives are in the afternoon.. Always looking for the best capture possible, seeing this Osprey was a blessing...

Lighting

The angle was just right so that his face was not shadowed.. and his body was not bright.

Equipment

Nikon P600, lightweight and easy to use.

Inspiration

Simply one thing, the beauty of sight at moment, you never know when you'll ever have that chance again... He was MAGNIFICENT and the capture needed to be instant before he took flight.

Editing

I clarified to view it better

In my camera bag

I carry one thing, my Nikon P600 is always with me wherever I go. Unable to hold a large camera with an extended lens it's something I can use that is lightweight.

Feedback

This advice is not something a professional could even use.. but my heart wanted to share, to those who think they wouldn't be able to take photos as professional do. Everyone starts somewhere, and in time you will blossom and at any age. I'm still learning I wait for that perfect pose (of course) Focus on your subject, take several shots, with different head and body positions.. every angle to me is very important, as all photographers know. Since I'm unable to walk any kind of distance and capture photos like many do when they hike in the woods or parks, I do not get discouraged... My personal and well known motto that everyone has been blessed with, is: BEAUTY IS IN THE EYE OF THE BEHOLDER.. anyone who is unable to take those hikes or strolls and would love to take memorable photos, take that country drive if your into nature, scenery, landscapes and wildlife is right in front of you, you don't need to be a professional (which I am not). I do it for the love of nature, to capture something so incredible that you may never see again, or remember except through the photos you take... your seating is comfortable, patient is a virtue, and just enjoy the beauty around you, take all the photos that inspire you. Mine are from my vehicle.
