Today has been a mostly rainy and dreary day in NW South Carolina, so I wanted to post this image while reminiscing about the golden days of fall.

This shot was taken during my first visit to Big Creek in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

During the hike, I was trying to scope out various compositions; being my first time, my eyes were constantly focusing and taking in all the beauty around me.

On my way back I climbed up on some big boulders along the bank, and was treated to this grand view of the golden trees arching over Big Creek.

Moments after this shot, huge gusts of wind came through the area and I was caught in a whirlwind of yellow leaves.

I hope this image brings something good to your day, and perhaps evokes a beautiful memory or two ;-)
