Behind The Lens

Location

I took this one in my home in the beautiful village Hulas located in northern part of Bihar state in India. This door stands at the entrance of our old house.

Time

Afternoon

Lighting

I took this one on a lazy afternoon with the Sun peeking occasionally through the clouds.

Equipment

Taken using my mobile phone Infocus M2. A bit of processing using Picasa

Inspiration

When I was a kid, I was always scared of this door. What if I open it and there is a monster standing before me. So, one day when I had my mobile in hand, I suddenly had a flashback of the same fear. Without wasting time, I pointed my mobile phone towards the door and clicked.

Editing

A bit of post processing- primarily white balance and b/w conversion.

In my camera bag

Mine is a point and shoot camera Nikon P610. I usually hold it in hands- never felt the need for a stand since I am not into long exposure shots. Though this one is taken using my mobile phone.

Feedback

Never miss the beauty in simple things! Your childhood imagination was way better than your imagination now. Sometimes when I am short of ideas, I ask myself what would a child find interesting in the surroundings around me. I get the answer within a few seconds and usually the clicks are way better than what I would have thought of as a photographer.
